A Big BIG Fiesta

My sweet papa is EIGHTY today!!! 8-0!!! Wowza!!! We celebrated over the weekend with a surprise fiesta. It was the best ever to see his expression when we opened the gate and he drove up to a backyard filled with love, love from the closest of family and friends under strings of colorful paper. This party turned out perfect. The details, the food, the music. I think it is safe to say that my dad was very pleased and he is very difficult to please (think - Christmas/birthday gifts always returned or left out where he opened them for months or why did you get me this? or I don't need that- difficult to please)...get me?!? lol. So here are some of the many many photos I took. I missed so many details. It was just too hard being one of the hostess' and playing photographer at the same time. Most decorations are from Olvera Street in Downtown L.A. and the blanket I brought back from a trip to Mexico. We had a taco stand that was a huge hit...delicious!!!! One of the highlights was the music, my dad's favorite music...boleros...usually performed by a trio (ours brought a 4th guy to add a little spice with maracas). And of course I got crafty for this fiesta. I made a ginormous "piñata" eighty and the goodie bags with photos of my dad. It was such a happy day.

Happy Birthday Dad!! Thank you for being such an amazing dad and an inspiration. Love you with all of my heart.

P.S. How cute is my little niece? She looked darling in her little dress.

Rebecca Taylor Fall Jackets

I am in a bit of a dilemma. I am obsessed with Rebecca Taylor. I can't get enough of her beautiful clothes...the tweed, the leather, the silk, the lace. I mean, everything is gorgeous. Earlier this year I picked up this tweed jacket. I love it and I can't wait for the weather to get a little cooler so I can start wearing it again.

The dilemma? I am now lusting major over the Fall jackets. I want them all. How gorgeous is the tan/leather sleeve jacket?? I need it in my life. Early Christmas present? Which is your favorite?

Lonny Magazine Sept. 2013 issue

Whoa!!! I went a whole month without posting on the bloggy blog here. Taking it easy on the computer, but been super busy crafting away and planning for my dad's upcoming birthday party...a fiesta...for his 80th!!!

Hope everyone is enjoying what is left of the holiday weekend. I had a pretty lazy weekend (especially today), and I am loving every minute of it. I even took a nap today, I never take naps. Them seem like such a waste of time to me. This weekend was perfect for lounging and soaking in some pretties. So how perfect that the September issue of Lonny just happen to go live this weekend.
