Currently pinning...Cozy Season!!!

I just can't help but get into the Christmas season with these lovely longer nights, cozy weather, and the sight of Christmas tree lots going up. I even made a yummy soup tonight (and I never cook), recipe from Pinterest of course. You'd think that after all of this time, my obsession with Pinterest would have died down...but I can't get enough of it. I can't STOP!!! I am already thinking about gift wrap, decorations, yummy sweet recipes...pin...pin...pin away. So, this is what I am currently pinning...

Dia de los Muertos in San Miguel

A little (two-weeks) late but here it is, as mentioned in my previous post, I had the absolute pleasure of visiting San Miguel de Allende during the Day of the Dead festivities. What a great time to visit. I loved the sweet scent of Pan de Muerto (a sweet bread traditionally baked for the day of the dead) and the sight of bright marigolds and colorful papel picado decorating beautiful alters by El Jardin.

Moxi, at the beautiful Hotel Matilda, is where we had dinner the night of Day of the Dead. This special dinner was prepared by the amazing Mexican chef Martha Ortiz of Dulce Patria in Mexico City.

San Miguel De Allende

I finally feel motivated and rested enough to sit at my computer and sort through the many photos I shot during my vacation last week. San Miguel de Allende...the colorful colonial town that sits in the state of Guanajuato, about 3 hours north of Mexico City, is where I spent my week. A week that I would say was way too short for the many wonders this place has to offer. The narrow cobble stoned streets are lined with great restaurants, cute cafes, gorgeous boutique hotels, and little shops that are among beautiful homes that only make one wonder what hides behind the old wooden doors and bougainvillea covered/greenery draped walls. Perhaps a lush garden or courtyard?

San Miguel de Allende has a rich artistic life. To feel inspired in this town is an understatement. Just visit Fábrica La Aurora, a former textile mill turned into a design and art center. One can spend an entire day at La Fabrica, from taking a workshop to walking from shops to galleries to dinner to cocktails. It's a one stop shop that is a must visit.

I had such an incredible time with family and met the most wonderful people. I will be posting many more photos of this amazing town in the future, as well as the Day of the Dead festivities. It was such an experience to be in San Miguel de Allende during this time. In the meantime, enjoy these photos from around town.
