Purple Rain!!!!

It's been a rainy day..and when it rains, for some weird reason the song Purple Rain by Prince comes to mind (and that one super bowl where he performed Purple Rain and it actually started pouring...best performance EVER). So I was inspired. Never thought about decorating with purple, actually not even fond of the color, but I love these photos and the great ideas on how to use purple in subtle ways...or not so subtle.
Love these unique lamps with purple shades.


I love this library space...black book shelves with the light purple walls+white chair = perfect combo.


And here is the not-so-subtle purple...it's a bit much but it works. Love the red chair. Would have never thought of this combo, but when you least expect colors will work together...they DO.

OH MY!!!! Perfection!!! Lilac walls (yes they are lilac), and lilac chairs go beautifully in this room. BUT what I really love (and now want) is the Black crow on a tree over sized portrait. Ugh...I think I need that. {HGTV Pure Design}
