In the Tropics!!

It's a tropical Sunday if you ask me...Rain, sun, wind, rain, sun...that's Southern California weather for you. To go with this "tropical" weather...why not make a delicious Pina Colada. Good excuse right? But for all of you "Happy Drinkers," sorry to disappoint, but this is a healthy (best for post workout) non-alcoholic Pina Colada :-)

I found coconut milk at Trader Joe's a while back and had not had the chance (or better, I was lazy) to make something with it.

This is so easy...here is all you need:

1 Banana, about 1/2 cup of Pineapple (or to your liking)

Add the coconut milk (about 3/4 cup)

Some ice

and VOILA!!!! Yummy Pina Colada. It is also suppose to have protein powder but I don't do well with protein powders/drinks (I get fluffy haha)

Cheers!!!

It's a Bust!

Follow my blog with bloglovin

Last year I came across this bust and became impatient when the owner of the space was too busy to answer my "how much for this?" question so I walked away...and I regret it to this day:-( Oh how I wish I would have been patient (like I normally am, so don't know what happen here). So here is the handsome guy from THIS post last year. Isn't he yummy?

And here is some inspiration on how to use gorgeous bust in your home for decor...I love the classic yet fun, strange but cool vibe they give.

As seen in one of my recent post HERE...love a bust in a book case as book ends/dividers.

So Chic. {Via Country Living}

This is such a cute idea...little tiny bust for table settings. Love!! {image found at nellhillsblog.com}

On a statue stand...so classic and elegant. And lovin the brick wall too :-) {Via House Beautiful}

Favorite. Favorite. Favorite...enough said! {via Domino Magazine}

Talk about a conversation piece. {Kelly Whearstler's home (of course)}

Love the idea of using a Bust to display necklaces...this image is gorgeous.

Instead of a table, use a Bust in between chairs. {via decor Pad}

So now not only am I on the hunt for a book case, but of course I need a Bust to go with it, Right?

5 Things Layla Grayce

Here are my 5 weekly favorite things over at Layla Grayce. I just about love everything there.

Annette Tatum Fabric in Blue.

Oly Studio Jonathan Tufted Stool. How perfect would this look against some window treatments in the above fabric?

The Well Dressed Home by Annette Tatum. Will have to add this to my growing collection of books.

I was shopping at Romance Etc. in Belmont Shore the other day and saw some super cute aprons and told Peter I wanted one...of course, his response was "when are you going to use that?" He has a point haha But I Love this one at Layla Grayce and may just have to get it because it's so cute.
Butterfly Applique Full Apron in Blue. (and they have other colors too)

And I LOVE this. How cute is this? Not into hair accessories much (wish I was) but this I will have to get.
Shabby Chic Blue and Pink Rosebud Headband.

To find any of these items go HERE...Happy Shopping!

Book Worm.

I am seriously on the search for a book case. I need one BAD as my constant -on a whim- purchasing of books is getting ridiculous and my current book cases are over flowing. But I also just love the warmth and coziness a book case/shelves bring to a space. So, my hunt for book cases at yard sales and flea markets begins (I'd rather purchase an old one and give it my own makeover if needed).

My mom's shelves were in desperate need of a makeover. So I added a bright background and simply arranged her mementos and added some books. Would have added much more, but mom likes it simple. Here is a before:

and this is after:

Here is some inspiration:

I love how everything here is so perfectly disorganized :-) {Lonny Mag.}

Color coded. {Lonny Mag.}

Book shelves serve as a room divider.

Ugh....Looooove!!!! from the colors, to the photos displayed in front of stacks, to the bust, to how girly this space is...obsessed!

I love the little surprises found in between the books.

Double the pleasure.

Another room divider. {image found at Manhattan Nest}

The love of encyclopedias. We have a few at my parent's house that I refuse to get rid of, as requested several times by my mom. {via cotedetexas}

Little cubbies...perfect natural patina (and notice the stripes...I like) {via furniture harvest blog}

All in order. {found at fancyhouseroad.com}

Or the cluttered look. Which I actually prefer myself. I like the cozy and charming feel this gives. {found at fancyhouseroad.com}

Old books are sooo cool. The binds, colors, sturdiness...just not made like that anymore. I love the whimsical feel of this space. {via homedecoratingplan.com}

White = pretty. {via homedecoratingplan.com}

I will keep you posted on my hunt for the perfect book case ;-)

Happy Monday!!

Movie Night!

Its been a crazy week to say the least. And to top it off...I'm a new momma (to a puppy that is) so sleepless nights are what I have to look forward to. To take my mind off of the chaos, tonight I felt like just watching a movie (well after American Idol). So Chocolat is was. It's so heart warming, whimsical, where we learn that people should indulge their pleasures and be more tolerant. It's a movie built on the premise that chocolate can cure just about anything...and I'd say that is true ;-) It's a lovely movie, with great actors with fabulous french accents, and catchy music. Don't know why it took me so long to watch it, or even hear of it. But I Loved it..and am now craving chocolate.

Happy it's almost the weekend:-)
